Bungling Forensic Science Service directors receive massive bonuses for letting killers and rapists escape justice

BOSSES of the bungling forensics agency which failed to spot the DNA of Rachel Nickell’s killer Robert Napper got more than £1million in BONUSES, the News of the World can reveal.

Three directors of the Government’s Forensic Science Service shared £1,138,000 ON TOP of their salaries.

One of them, thought to be former chief executive Dave Werrett, got £875,000.

News of the bumper payouts comes after a woeful recent history which has seen the FSS face two independent inquiries, including a probe into how it missed bloodstains during the Damilola Taylor investigation.

A Government source told us: “These top staff have walked away with a bumper bonus in an organisation whose ineptitude let killers and rapist scum escape justice.”
